Lisa Thurkettle
Lisa’s interest in art was well established in school. From there she went to complete her foundation at Suffolk College in Ipswich, continuing on to Anglia Polytechnic, University in Cambridge. There she completed her degree in Graphic Art, specialising in printmaking.
Lisa feels very fortunate to have lived most of her life in Suffolk and for the last fifteen years she has been painting here in acrylics. She takes her inspiration from the beautiful landscapes and wide, open skies that surround her. Colour and light play a big part in Lisa’s paintings, as she strives to capture the interaction between sky and land with all its energy, drama as well as serenity and beauty.
Creating highly detailed original pieces is a passion, with success exhibiting throughout Suffolk and beyond. At the 2022 Hadleigh Show, she was delighted to be awarded “Best in Show”.
Lisa takes landscape commissions, whether it is a favourite place or somewhere that holds special meaning. She feels privileged that a buyer has trusted her to recreate this for them. It is the biggest compliment of all when someone returns wishing to own more than one of her paintings.
In this general catalogue we publish just a few examples of Lisa's work, with most of the exhibits currently available being shown in our website shop.
