Sally Wotton - Textiles

Sally is a Suffolk based crafter with a love of creating unique items using beautiful or unusual fabrics.  She particularly enjoys working with silks and hand printed cotton and often mixes the two together.  She has also recently tried to include recycled fabrics where possible.

Sally's degree in Japanese allowed her to explore the exotic world of woodblock prints and hand painted silk scrolls.  Following on from this she began showing an interest in mixing and matching fabric types, patterns, colour and design elements such as embroidery.  Recent trips to China, Morocco and India have provided more great fabrics and inspiration.

Each bag is individually designed and sewn using a mix of machine embroidery and hand sewing.  The choice of fabrics, for both outside and inside, is key to creating the perfect little bag!  Each can be used as a clutch or over the shoulder bag.

Sally sells her work at various craft fairs in Suffolk as well as here at Brett Gallery.

In this general catalogue we publish just a few examples of Sally's work, with most of the exhibits currently available being shown in our website shop.  If you live close by, or are on holiday in the area, do visit the Gallery itself where you should enjoy a relaxed browse through our East Anglian Artists' creations.
