Carol is an artist working primarily in oils, who is inspired by the challenge of capturing the light and atmosphere of her local environment.
She is most content working en plein air to capture the scene before her, and uses painting knives to give her work a fresh and loose approach on traditional landscapes, a technique that also works well on larger studio pieces.
Her paintings have been shown widely in Suffolk and Essex in joint and single exhibitions and also in North East England. She has contributed articles in the “International Artist” on “painting the greens of England”. And also in the series of books “How did you paint that? 100 ways to paint Seascapes, Rivers and Lakes”.
Carol has had her work published in the S.A.A magazine “Paint” and in 2014 became the S.A.A. Amateur Artist of the year.
Carol likes to travel widely for her landscape paintings, but is still primarily inspired by the landscape and coastal scenery of her immediate locality.
In this general catalogue we publish just a few examples of Carol's work, with most of the exhibits currently available being shown in our website shop.
