Reuse, repurpose, remade - Rebecca Morgan

I have always loved designing with fabric but was increasingly concerned about the amount that ends up in landfill.  So, as a bit of a fabric hoarder, I decided to see if I could turn repurposed fabric into beautiful home accessories and gifts.  The fabric I use comes from all sorts of places:  fashion industry remnants, discontinued stock and repurposed fabrics.

My appliqué designs are inspired by my love of wildlife and each appliqué design is made from individual, hand cut pieces of fabric, making no two items the same.

All my products are made from natural fabrics, usually linens or wools, and my fingerless gloves are made with repurposed cashmere.  My cushions and bags are appliqué using left over textiles, giving them a new life.  The appliqué is raw edged, meaning the fabric will, over time, fray to the stitch line, giving the item a vintage look.

I hope you get many years enjoyment from this cushion and enjoy having it in your home, as much as i have designing and making it.

In this general catalogue we publish just a few examples of Becky's work, with most of the exhibits currently available being shown in our website shop.  If you live close by, or are on holiday in the area, do visit the Gallery itself where you should enjoy a relaxed browse through our East Anglian Artists' creations
