Reuben and Katherine Hutchings - Ceramists and Potters - Mushi
Reuben had many years' experience as a ceramist 20 years'ago but has recently returned to pottery on a modest scale.
All of his work is thrown stoneware and fired in an oxidising atmosphere. Reuben has developed his glazes by experimenting with a range of raw materials to produce matt, satin and high gloss finishes with multi layered application.
Reuben and Katherine have together created Mushi, from the Japanese meaning " To embrace imperfections in ceramic form ". They emphasise this by following the structure and complexity of nature.
In this general catalogue we publish just a few examples of Reuben and Katherine's work, with most of the exhibits currently available being shown in our website shop.
